Today is my day to remember Paige. I miss her, love her, and can't wait to see her again.

Whenever the weather is decent and I get home in a timely fashion, our little family goes for a walk on the trails that surround our house. Mostly we just go on one trail over and over again but it is a good one. Esme is just like her mom, she loves the outdoors. She loves exploring and touching and even tasting all that it has to offer.

So as I continue to figure out how to care for a 1 1/2 year old one of the things I have mentioned in this blog before is Esme's totally awesome/out of control hair. The past few weeks I had been noticing that it has been looking a little shaggy so I decided it was time for a "real" haircut. Paige and I went to the same stylist for many years and she graciously offered to give Esme and little trim whenever she needed it. So we packed up the car and headed in for a trim. Esme slept most of the way in, the salon is in Seattle, so in this first picture she looks a little groggy. The haircut experiment was short but at least we got the back of her hair trimmed before she decided that she was through.
Getting all ready for the haircut
Jennifer had to move quick because every time she cut Esme's hair, Esme would look around to see what she was doing to her.
Of course the next morning her hair was back to it's usual awesome self
(note the awesome christmas pj's)

Now that Esme is becoming a "big girl" she has little interest in me feeding her. So I got her this kid's table so that she could begin to practice eating at the table. She loves it and now yells at me if I even try to peel her banana's for her. At dinner Esme and I eat together at this little table, more to follow on that in a future post.

As summer begin's to peek it's head out from behind the clouds the Cahoon household is spending a lot more time outdoors. The other day I came home from work to a beautiful, albeit cool afternoon, so Esme, Stanley and I spent a little time enjoying the sunshine...and the leftovers from many, many days of rain.
Esme and Stanley
That is Esme in the distance telling me that we are going to wrong way...we normally go up to a little bridge.
